The Mechanical Claims Adjuster role combines your hands-on technical expertise with customer service skills to assist clients in a professional and efficient manner. Leveraging your automotive knowledge, you’ll process claims requests, ensuring a seamless and accurate experience for all parties involved. This position is ideal for experienced, well-spoken mechanics seeking to apply their passion for vehicles in a different, yet impactful, way.
Responsibilities:
Claim Intake & Customer Interaction: Answer inbound calls from dealer clients, service advisors, repair facilities, and retail customers regarding vehicle service contract claims, providing professional guidance and support
Eligibility & Coverage Assessment: Evaluate claims by interpreting service contracts, documents, and agreements to determine eligibility and available coverage
Pricing & Parts Verification: Confirm pricing for parts and labor using industry-accepted pricing guides to ensure accuracy and fairness in claims processing
Repair Evaluation: Assess the necessity and appropriateness of requested repairs or benefits based on repair manuals and industry standards, ensuring claims align with best practices
Field Inspection Coordination: If necessary, assign on-site inspectors to assess claims and verify repair needs
Parts & Delivery Coordination: Facilitate the procurement of replacement parts and arrange their timely delivery, ensuring repairs proceed without delay
Documentation & Claims Processing: Accurately document all claim-related details in a custom computer system, ensuring clear, concise, and complete records for processing
Customer & Facility Assistance: Support contract holders and repair facilities with document submission and other administrative tasks to ensure timely and accurate claims payment
Qualifications:
Hands-on Mechanical Experience: Strong background as a mechanic in a retail dealership or similar environment, with the technical know-how to assess and resolve complex vehicle-related issues
ASE Certification or Manufacturer Equivalent
Excellent Communication Skills: Outstanding verbal and written communication abilities to professionally interact with customers, team members, and repair facilities
Customer Service Expertise: Ability to provide exceptional service and resolve issues in a clear, empathetic, and efficient manner
Computer Proficiency: Comfortable working with computers, Microsoft Office Suite, and proprietary claim processing systems
Self-Motivated & Results-Driven: Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work independently with a strong sense of urgency
Team-Oriented: Collaborative, with a commitment to contributing to a positive and productive team environment
Typing Skills: Minimum typing speed of 40 words per minute
Work Schedule:
Remote work Monday-Friday (10-7 CST) and one rotating Saturday a month (8-2 CST)
Initial training and quarterly meetings will be at our corporate office
